Henrietta Brooks - Diabetic and falling

Mrs. Brooks is having a hard time. She is a diabetic and is falling a lot in her home. She is so afraid she is going to break something. She and her husband are both elderly and live alone. Please pray for Mr. & Mrs. Brooks.

Linda Shumaker - Bedridden from three ministrokes

Linda has had three ministrokes and is currently bedridden. She seems to be getting weaker and not recovering.

John Kahle - Prayers for being paroled w/restored health

Vince Lowe - Kidneys removed

Vince Lowe, son of pastor Jack Lowe and his wife Judie of Atlanta,Ga congregation has recently had both kidneys removed due to complete renal failure.
Prayers are appreciated for Vince to get a donor, that he may be able to come off of the dialysis at some point.

Cole Burkes - Seizures

Cole is doing well and healing nicely. He will be able to work out of the office at his work place until he is well enough to weld again. He will see the neurologist mid Jan. for further testing. Update to follow. -- KEJ

The doctor has lifted all restrictions for Cole. He had the seizures in his sleep, and since brain activity is different when at rest, the doctor does not believe Cole will have seizures while awake. He will continue taking his medicine, and followup with his neurologist in 6 months. -- KEJ

Cole had 4 grand mal seizures Friday evening. He is home from the hospital, but will have to have more testing. He will not be able to work or drive for many months. Cole and his wife Candice have a young 5 month old son to care for. Please remember them in your prayers.

Benjamin Hillenburg - Heart transplant

Ben is doing well. He has been extubated, and will be transferred to Kohl��s house soon to be monitored and continue recovering, and then he will be going home hopefully early Feb. -- KEJ

1 month old Ben has an enlarged heart that is causing the rest of his organs to fail. He is on the top of the list to get a heart transplant in the Midwest. Please pray for this little guy and his parents.

Landon Harris - Hypotonia, shunt to the brain

Born with Hypotonia, Landon is 21 months old, is undergoing several shunt surgeries to the brain to relieve pressure and fluid build up related to the hypotonia.

Kathy Strine - Swollen, painful arm - reason unknown

Kathy has suffered for a long time with various colon, kidney and "gut" pain. Doctors tell her different things are wrong with her. They can't agree - and as farmers, the Strine's don't have the money to have all the tests doctors want to give her.
She has a lot of pain and cannot always attend services. She has been a member for over 30 years and has a lot of faith and love for the brethren. She needs God's intervention in her life, to be completely healed, as only God can do.
Your prayers for her are greatly appreciated, with thanksgiving for God's healing hand. -- Ally Maddox

My kidney blast for stones surgery went great.Have found that I no longer have any issues with stomach pain, Diverculitis, back pain or kidney pain that I have been struggling with for years. Can say that this is the BEST I have felt in years. Thanks for your prayers. God does hear us..and HE does answer prayers. -- Kathy Strine

My back pain and other health issues with colon and digestion were all completely gone after being anointed in July. And kidney problems eliminated too. What a great God we have. But Dec 1st in a car wreck which broke my ribs..do request your prayers that they heal soon. Miss being with brethren on the Sabbath.

Along with Kathy′s many health concerns, her left arm has become swollen and enflamed. The pain keeps her awake nights. She cannot afford doctors and when she does go, they don′t help her. Her unconverted husband is often harsh with her. Thank you for your continued prayers on her behalf.

It's been awhile since an update on Bill has been posted. I spoke with his father (Mr. Marvin Maney) yesterday at services and he told me Bill has such a wonderful attitude every time he goes to visit him.

Bill Maney is ill with weakness, paleness, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, respiratory. Other prisoners are being hospitalized or medicated and they are not helping Bill for some reason. He does not know why. Please pray for Gods intervention in Bill's health and also in his freedom. I will be fasting for him Sunday (tomorrow) at sundown. Please join me. Bill Maney returned from a wonderful feast in Florida, only to be attacked even more.
This is taking it's toll on his family and him and he desperately needs your prayers!

Bill is scheduled to appear in court on Monday Sept. 11th. Without going into detail, your prayers are requested in this matter. Please pray that all charges against him are dropped.

Bill went to jury trial today and one of the charges was dropped and the other one ended in a hung jury.

Please pray he will be able to attend the feast and his rescheduled court date will not interfere. Also, please continue to pray that all pending charges against him will be dropped as well.

Bill is waiting to find out if he will be able to attend the Feast. Please continue to pray for him. Also, please note, he has a new address...

PRAYER UPDATE: Oct. 10th, 2000

As of 2PM today, Bill has been denied permission to go to the Feast by the courts. He has not been found guilty by anyone, yet he is being denied this simple request to attend God's Feast because it would take him out of town! He was told he would be able to attend ALL church functions and so far he has without any problems. Please continue to pray that God will somehow make it possible for him to go to the Feast.

Bill Maney was sentenced to 20+ years in prison today. He is a dedicated baptized member of the Asheville, NC congregation. His parents, Marvin and Edith (Deacon and Deaconess) appreciate the prayers poured out on their son's behalf. Please continue to pray for Bill and that God will protect him and deliver him from this fiery trial. Prison is a very dangerous place. He needs God's immediate and continual protection.

He can get VERY discouraged sitting in prison listening to foul language and constant yelling all the time so please continuously send him cards and letters of encouragement. Please send them to his parents as well.

"I am writing in regards to your son Bill Maney and to thank you myself for putting me in touch with the Living Church of God. I have recently been moved to Southern Correctional in Troy, NC. and would like you to tell Bill for me that the Lord has blessed me so much.

I miss him (Bill) and the talks we would have. I hope to see him again God willing.

I would like to thank you and the entire Maney family for your loving kindness. May the Lord bless you and your family.

So Bill will know, tell him I do the Lord's will and not my own and I think of him often.

I pray the Lord will release him from his imprisonment, but it be according to His will and glorifying and be a living testimony unto men."

PRAYER UPDATE: April 30th, 2001

Bill continues to find favor among the guards and even the warden. He was offered a private office so that he may observe the passover. His brother (Gary) told me this past Sabbath that Bill was very upbeat about being able to observe the Holy days and excited about the possibility of being moved to a minimum security prison soon. PRAYER UPDATE: July 15th, 2001

Bill has been moved from the maximum security prison in Raleigh to a medium security prison closer to his family in the Avery/Mitchell Correctional Institution. They now get contact visits which lasts 2 hours. He gets to make unlimited phone calls now too! The only thing is his visitation is only on Saturdays from 1:30-3:30. Please pray that we can get this changed to Sundays. Continue to keep Bill in your prayers and thank you for your continued cards and letters of encouragement. Greetings! We just found out that Bill was moved again. This time he is at Piedmont Correctional Institution. He got there sometime this evening. This is in Salisbury, NC. We would appreciate it very much if you could change this on the prayer list again. He will be allowed only 2 phone calls a month. He still has contact visits. Visitation is on Saturday or Sunday depending which dorm he is in. Please note his new address below...

My family and I visited Bill in prison on Sunday. Thinking, I'd walk away depressed, just the opposite happened. He is such an inspiration! His attitude towards his circumstances continues to brighten everybody he comes in contact with. His light is definitely shining to everyone he meets.

He is able to keep the Sabbath and Holy Days. He has one of the best jobs there.

He said he receives on average, a new letter or card of encouragement each day! He said it really brightens his day every time someone sends him something. He wanted me to pass on that he apologizes for not responding to each and every card and letter. His locker can only have so much in it and when it overflows with cards of love and encouragement, he mails them to his parents for safe keeping. You have no idea how much those mean to him. Please keep them coming and please continue to pray that his trial will be over soon.
