Death Announcement: Mr. Dave Adams, LCG, Reno, NV.

Thank you brethren for all your prayers and cards for Dave and Shirley Adams of the Reno, NV, LCG congregation. They have been a tremendous encouragement to both of them over the past two weeks. Dave died peacefully at home Sunday, November 22, 2009, when his heart stopped unexpectedly. God was merciful in allowing Dave's cancer to be almost pain-free to the end, and he remained in a positive attitude.

Dave's wife Shirley has MS and very much needs our prayers at this difficult time. Because she must have a caregiver, she is facing some major decisions about where she will go and what's best for her now. Your continued prayers and cards of support and encouragement for Shirley would be much appreciated.

Today (12/04/09) was the funeral of Mr. Dave Adams from the Reno congregation. Dave and Shirley moved from North Carolina before the Feast to be with his daughter and grandchildren in the Reno area. Dave died 12 days ago of a fast moving metastatic cancer that involved his pancreas.

Mr and Mrs Ullerick drove this week to Silverdale, WA to visit Shirley Adams, an LCG church member very recently widowed, and a long-term sufferer of multiple sclerosis. Shirley recently moved into the area to be closer to her family, which helps take care of her, although she′s now living so far from church she won′t be able to attend often. The Ullericks reported:

Shirley has recently moved into her own small house close to her brother Cecil′s on well-manicured grounds in a park-like setting, which affords her privacy, but ready access to help should she need it. She was very happy to have a visit with church brethren since none of her remaining family are church members.

She and her husband were at Newport for the Feast, and her husband was anointed at that time for a bad cough. When they returned home to Sparks, NV, where they were then living, his condition worsened and he died three weeks from being confirmed with cancer throughout his body. It happened very quickly and the poor lady is still somewhat in a state of shock and grief. She cries when speaking about him, and the sadness of her loss creeps up on her often. She asks, "Why am I still here? What do I possibly have to offer except my prayers for the success of the Work?"

She was delighted to have Gary put the Church′s Home Page on her computer screen, so she can access material, sermons, booklets, etc . She can receive letters and cards of encouragement at: 11875 Brian Lane N.W. Silverdale WA 98383. Gary and she were able to go through some of the scriptures including God′s ′taking the righteous from the evil to come′, God′s promises for the protection of the church, and other passages concerning church history and prophecy concerning the church.

She now uses her husband′s well-marked Bible which helps her in her personal Bible Study, and Shirley told us that when they lived in North Carolina and in Sparks, he led songs and gave sermonettes, under Mr. Fannin and Dr. Fall respectively. She met her husband while working as a typist for the Sears store in Bremerton, WA, where he also worked. They were married six weeks after meeting and she says that their thirteen short years together were the happiest years of their lives. (She had been widowed before after twenty-seven years of marriage). -- Steve Moody

The following is a prayer request from dear friends who lived in our western NC area until a few months ago, when they moved to Nevada to be close to family.
Please pray for Dave Adams and his wife, Shirley, (LCG, Reno, NV).
Dave became sick at the Feast this year, and after a month of lingering illness, he went to the doctor for a check-up.
Test results this week have shown that he has advanced cancer in his liver and pancreas, and it has spread over most of his body. Shirley has MS and depends on Dave to take care of her. They have asked for prayers for both of them, that God would intervene on their behalf and heal Dave.

Roy Monger - Suffered a stroke

Mr. Monger is improving everyday. He looks really good and is walking and eating well. He still has difficulty with putting his thoughts together and expressing himself. He is in speech therapy twice a week. He appreciates all the prayers and concern shown to him. --

Mr. Monger an Elder serving in the Knoxville congregation suffered a stroke on September 30. 2009. The stroke has left him unable to read or express himself very well. He is able to walk and also to dress and feed himself. He is just have difficulty with speech. Please pray for God to intervene and heal him.

Allen Sanders - Lymphoma

Allen has started chemo therapy and a is little stronger but is still pretty sick. We plan to keep the Feast in Branson and do ask that you will pray that he will be able to keep the whole feast. We appreciate the card and letters from the brethen and we do pray for others who are sick and also for the safety and health for everyone to have blessed Feast season.

Allen has been in lot of pain for about 3 weeks now. The doctors had told him that he did not need any more chemo because all his blood works and tests were good but that same week he started having severe pain in his lower abdomen. He has been in the hospital since Tues. all his tests so far haven't shown anything, but his biopsy result won't be in till Mon. Please pray that God heal whatever is causing this pain and that He will help us learn any lessons we need to learn. We do appreceiate all your prayers and the cards and letters that so many of you sent him.

My husband has been sick for several weeks with constant diarrhea and has lost a lot of weight. The doctors informed us that he has lymphoma and will need chemo therapy. We are asking for your prayers for him. Please ask God to heal and strengthen him so we can keep these coming Feast days.

Jacob Holst - Epilepsy problems

Jacob's condition is about the same without any signs of improvement. What he is dealing with is a strong demon that attacks him on a regular basis- fighting continually for his mind. I have witnessed it first hand to know it for what it is. It prevents Jacob from attending services as well as the Feast and holy Days which are very important to Jacob.
Many thanks go out, not only for the availability of this web site, but for the love and support of those church members who frequent this site. I have Jacob's full permission to post the exact nature of his vexation. -- Brad Nelson

I spoke with Jacob this morning, and he indicated that there maybe a slight improvement in his condition. That's not to say that God has completely healed him yet. But there does seem to be some improvement, in a sense that he does not have the heavy convulsive attacks on a regular basis. You're continued prayers would be appreciated, as he has suffered memory loss and still fights a great deal of ongoing depression.

Jacob has been suffering from epilepsy for a number of years. He's been a faithful, baptized church member of LCG for years and really is in dire need of our prayers and God's intervention at this time.

Lory is having pain and still fighting... They moved again and so will post her new address.
Friday night We(Pat and Larry Summers. Indianapolis congregation sustained damage from an F2 tornado... Our roof sustained shingle damage and tar paper tore off so our kitchen ceiling and dining
room ceiling came down with all insulation and we lost most of our large trees... God did intervein for it is repairable but the trees will be very much missed..).. I do believe that the fervent prayers of those who love will bring help in times of need... Our daughter Lory has been doing so poorly for quite some time but has made a turn and for four days has had no pain at all.. I can not tell you what this means to us... She also had another blood test and her CEA has dropped to 47.. this is good for her... I do thank you for all the cards and more than that the prayers... Our daughter had another CT Scan and she reacted poorly to it... Her pain is back but she feels hopeful. The cards and care and prayers have lifted us as well as her.. I need to update her address. see above updates for new one...

Please brethren, please pray for our dearest and only child... She is of course in her 40's but her cancer pain was so bad this week.. I am unable to go and help her for we care for my mother who is 95... I have kidney problems and this has been such a trial this week.. they are spraying the fields to increase the yield, but it does affect my only remaining 1/2 of one kidney... I feel so for our dear daughter.. Please please pray for her healing and more than that her help... Her husband fought for the Sabbath and God heard his prayers.. He is so special and we love him dearly.. I know that you can pray for our daughter and that you will be rewarded with God's mind in suffering... I have been called since 1960 and know that God has all power.. I am here because He heals..... Lory's last Pet scan shows that the cancer is spreading and in her lungs... I know that God has all power... we are praying for His will to be done... Please pray for her and her husband and for us.. Dear Brethren

I am just so overwhelmed by the response and the love that you have poured out upon our dearest daughter and her husband.
Lory is in pain and is still on hopsice care. She has the most wonderful attitude and trust in God that whatever He does is best for her.
We of course are in grief over her pain and the long suffering that she and her husband has undergone..
We have to look to Hebrews 11 and how they suffered too.
Please do know we appreciate all your prayers and cards.. They lift her more than you can ever know... She said she just is moved by the many loving cards and the prayers... Thank you so much.. I just can not tell you how much your prayers and love and cards have meant to our dearest daughter... Please do not underestimate the prayers and cards that make such a differnence to those who suffer... Please do not stop your prayers for her and for us...
I know that you do not know us, but we suffer with you too.. Please know that if you suffer we do too in prayers for you.. Please pray for each other and support each other... we do so love you and ask God to help you through the Valley of the suffering...
Lory has such a beautiful attitude.. It humbles me... and makes me long for the Kingdom... God Keep each of you who suffer... Please know that my heart is touched as the Father was touched when Christ suffered... He saw the innocence and the love that His Son had for those who suffer.. Please draw togeather and pray for one another...

He is so patient and so loving and supportive and has endured much suffering watching our daughter suffer.. She is currently having pain on the left side of her lung in the heart area... Do keep up the cards and prayers... We do not know what God is going to do and He tests us to the very limit of our endurance... Abraham suffered when he offered Issac.. God had to see his inner heart.. We pray so for all those who suffer and ask for the strength and faith of God for you all.. James says that the prayers of a righteous man availeth much.. God healed the lymphnodes and she has another kind of cancer this time..
